Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking interns for the Spring 2016 internship term.
Internship opportunities are available in the Office of College and Career Success at Chicago Public Schools. Specifically, interns would be part of a dynamic team leading a high priority initiative called the Chicago Higher Education Compact. The Chicago Higher Education Compact is a partnership between CPS, twenty-two universities, and six advisory partners with the goal of increasing college graduation rates for CPS students to 60% by 2025. All positions require excellent research, communication (written and oral), editing, and computer skills. Additionally, qualified candidates are high performing individual contributors and team players. Although some duties will be achieve through independent work, the Chicago Higher Education Compact requires a high-level of stakeholder engagement including senior leaders of universities, school districts, the nonprofit community, and related agencies. Diplomacy and a solution-oriented mindset are pre-requisites to success. Each candidate will report to the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Projects.
Program implementation and stakeholder engagement intern
Duties:
Assist with Compact meeting planning, scheduling, and communication among Compact partnersLead the planning and implementation of the inaugural Compact Symposium scheduled for June 2016 including: event planning, logistics, maintaining registrations, and managing presentation proposal submissionsAssist with program delivery including direct-to-student services, supplementing efforts to recapture unenrolled and/or college dropouts, providing summer melt advice, and connecting Compact resources to schools, students, and familiesAttend quarterly Compact meetings, 1-1 meetings as required, and internal planning meetingsOther duties as assigned
Currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate program
Demonstrated success in planning, organization, and logistics

External communications, marketing, and branding intern
Duties:
Develop and maintain web content for the Chicago Higher Education CompactDesign and produce an annual report featuring the work of the Compact and its strategic planWork with multiple stakeholders to promote the Compact, its efforts, and the programs/services provided by its partnersProduce a variety of content (digital, print, graphic) to be used as promotional material, presentation material, or communication materialAttend quarterly Compact meetings, 1-1 meetings as required, and internal planning meetingsOther duties as assigned
Currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate program with a preference given to marketing, communications, graphic design, business administration, and arts administration fields of study
Web development and content authorship experience
Experience with the visual display of data, information, and programs
