The Office of the Chancellor is seeking an undergraduate UIC student for the position of General Office Aide. This position serves as a clerical assistant to the staff of the Chancellor’s Office. This position requires 10 to 15 hours per week during the semester and possibly 25+ during the break.
Responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to:
- Answering and fielding phone calls, email, and in person inquiries in a professional and cordial manner
- Photocopying, scanning, printing, collating and organizing important materials
- Handling and filing of confidential correspondence and reports
- Assist Director of Finance and Business Administration with business transactions and compiling reports
- Sorting and distribution of in-coming and outgoing mail
- Entry and updating of mailing lists and databases
- Staffing on-campus events and assisting with event logistics, invitation distribution and attendance verification
- Ability to work non-traditional hours based on meetings and event needs
- Assisting with scheduling of meetings and compiling related agendas, materials and reports
- Running errands across to East, West and South campuses
Qualifications:
An undergraduate UIC student with one year of work experience either on or off campus, ideally in an office setting. Must be a mature and responsible self-starter with superb organizational and communication skills. Familiar with MS Office Word and Excel, and have the ability to work with databases. Licensed driver preferred.
