New Life volunteering society is an organization looking to help people in the Chicago community; we hope to utilize the resources from various undergraduate and medical school chapters to fill this need! We host many exciting opportunities such as west campus tours, clinic volunteering, and tutoring programs.
Mentoring
We are currently seeking undergraduates to be a part of our mentorship program with UIC medical schools. Through this program, we will pair an undergraduate student with a medical student mentor that will help with applying, MCAT, gap year opportunities, or anything you are looking for!
If you are interested in our program, please sign up as a mentee at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzVnOAirgl-VI28JXuJLEt1u7Pfj-T6tYEN_iMOzVVLob_8g/viewform.
Tutoring
In addition to our mentorship program, we have a tutoring program open to all undergraduates! We are looking for volunteer tutors to tutor kids (ages 9-12) for 90 minutes a week at the Taylor Street Library! We will pair you with the same student every week to tutor them in math, science, or reading. If you are interested, please email nlvstutoring@gmail.com. This is a great way to gain volunteer hours and be involved in the community.
If you would like to be a part of our Listserv or want to learn more about our organization and how you can get involved, please contact nlvstutoring@gmail.com and give us a like on Facebook for more instant notifications!
