    Please join us in the effort to make beautiful cards and envelopes that will brighten up someones day!

    Donate by Design is teaming up with Chancellors Committee on the Status of Women, Minority Concerns Subcommittee (CCSW) to make handmade cards and envelopes to contribute to the UIC Day of Service! Completed cards and envelopes will be delivered to UICs Student Leadership Development and Volunteer Services (SLDVS), who will then send the cards to prisoners on April 18th, the UIC Day of Service.

    We would appreciate any card/envelope-making supplies that you are able to donate, so please bring paper items (magazines, old calendars, book covers, old wrapping paper, etc), adhesive, and your own pair of scissors, if you can. Templates, decorative papers, labels, and markers will be provided.

We are hoping to find an underclassman who is willing to stay on for more than one semester. Graphic design students and students with experience with the Adobe suite are preferred, but if you have no experience we can teach you.

    The 23rd Annual Honors College Ball is an event you do not want to miss! The Ball will take place on March 5, 2016 at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza from 6pm to 12pm! The theme for the Ball is Magnificent Mile of Memories! This event is open to all UIC students, faculty, and staff! Invite your friends, your Honors College Fellows, professors, etc! Tickets are on sale in the Honors College Lounge from 11am to 1pm until this Friday, February 19! Tickets are $50 for students, and $90 for professionals! Come and create memories with your fellow students, faculty, and staff! We hope to see you there!

    Are you a pre-health student looking to enhance your knowledge of issues pertinent to the healthcare world? Are you interested in topics ranging from international public health to molecular discoveries? Are you a writer, photographer, artist, reader, or editor?

    The Journal for Pre-Health Affiliated Students needs you!

    JPHAS (Journal for Pre-Health Affiliated Students) is a student-run, student-written, and student-published journal for UIC. We welcome anyone who is a student interested in learning about current issues and events in the healthcare field in order to further their interest by drawing, writing, editing and publishing for our journal. Participating in JPHAS is a great way to show professional schools that you have demonstrated interest in the field.

    Our spring writing cycle will be starting soon, and if you would like to get involved, let us know by sending us an email!

We visit kids in foster care shelters bi-weekly and teach them science via hands-on experiments. For more information, come to our first meeting on Wednesday, 9/7 at 5:00 pm.     EcoCampus, UIC's Student Environmental Organization will be having its second General Body Meeting (GBM) of the semester on Tuesday February 4 from 2-3 pm in 121 Burnham Hall. We focus on environmental and sustainability issues related to UIC and the Chicago community.

    This meeting we will be discussing our current projects, specifically our Earth Day events, the energy saving competition, and the contaminated ComEd site on campus. Stop by if you'd like to hear about our projects, offer some ideas of your own, or get invovled in what we're doing.

    Donate by Design meeting for current members, new members, or anyone interested in our events for Spring:  Tuesday, March 11 at 6pm in the Burnham Hall Quiet Study Room.

    Members who have made projects but have not turned them in yet, please bring them to the meeting.

    We'll be talking about craft selling events and which ones we want to participate in. March and April are full of great events for us to have a booth at.

  • Donate by Design: Gift Giving on a Budget VI: Upcycled T-shirt Scarves, Tues. 11/4

    CCSW Minority Women Concerns subcommittee and Donate by Design student organization are teaming up to get crafty and give back to the community. Please join us as we make scarves from upcycled t-shirt. You'll be amazed at how easy, fun, and fashionable it is to upcycle t-shirts. Make one to donate to a local organization that serves women and make a second for yourself. Please bring a t-shirts to upcycle and we'll provide the rest of the supplies.

CAN helps survivors of domestic violence, rape, stalking, and hate crimes.

  • De-Stress with HCAB, Wed. 11/30

    Do final exams stress you out? Join your Honors College Advisory Board for a relaxing evening. The wellness center will be providing a “stretching out your stress” workshop where attendees can learn about stress and how to manage it with breathing and stretching exercises. DIY aromatherapy oil roll-ons and DIY study snacks will follow the presentation. The event will be held in the Honors College Lounge Burnham Hall on November 30 from 5-7pm. Space and supplies are limited so please RSVP on the Facebook Event Page or by e-mailing smurad6@uic.edu.

    Help your fellow honors college students host UIC's biggest fundraising event ever and support Children's Miracle Network.If you're looking for a way to give back, have fun, see performances, dance, play games, sing, and save lives, Dance Marathon at UIC (DMUIC) is for you.

    Open to everyone!

    Every cent raised will be FOR THE KIDS, and all proceeds will be going to the Children's Miracle Network hospital, the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

    You will be on your feet on April 11th to stand for those who can't. The families who are being helped will be present to tell their stories and give you their personal thanks. Be a hero for the kids; stand up for their families and grant a child the opportunity to grow old. Dance for those who can't in the hope that one day they may be able to.
