We are excited to announce that UIC - HON 124: POP! Art and Culture that Rocked British Society in the 1960s is now accepting applications!
The program is directed and taught by Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Outreach Programs in the Honors College and Art Historian, Michele McCrillis. The course, which fulfills Gen Ed requirements, will help you earn 3 Honors Units, and you'll get the experience of a lifetime!
About the program!
Learn about the changes that swept the UK in the 1950's and 1960's, such as shifting notions of class and genders, Pop Art and Op Art movements, 1960's photography, fashion, design and film, "Swinging London," and the music of the Beatles and Rolling Stones.
Socio-cultural excursions include Tate Britain, Tate Modern, National Portrait Gallery, and Abbey Road in London and a visit to Liverpool.
Program Fee: The program fee of $3,433 includes airport transfers to/from the airport in the host country, shared housing in hotels, local transportation for program excursions, some group meals, group flight to and from London, and international health insurance. The program fee does not include UIC tuition/fees, passport, visa (if applicable), most meals, and personal spending money.
Applicants to a UIC study abroad program pay a non-refundable $50 application fee and a $200 study abroad fee.
Priority Deadline for Honors College: If you apply by October 1st, you will be given priority to receive an automatic $1,700 GRANT from the Honors College if you are among the first 15 applicants who are accepted and then subsequently commit to participate. This cuts the program cost by almost HALF!
