Starting this semester, the Society of Future Physicians (SFP) will be partnering with End Overdose, a national nonprofit organization that seeks to fight against the opioid epidemic through education, medical care, and awareness. Through this partnership, UIC students such as yourselves will be trained on how to identify and treat overdoses through the proper and rapid use of Narcan (naloxone).
If you are interested in getting involved, SFP will be hosting an informational event about End Overdose that is open to all students. Please fill out this form if you're interested in participating: https://forms.gle/QQpusafnYX7GD1Ek9
This event will be held in-person on Tuesday, March 26th from 5-6pm. Filling out the interest form is not obligatory for attendance. An RSVP form will be sent out closer to the date.
This is an excellent experience for students with a passion for service who are looking to get involved with the community and potentially save a life. You don't have to be a member of SFP to attend this event. Please reach out to Abbie Schmidt (aschmi42@uic.edu) or Akshay Dalvi (aadalvi2@uic.edu) with any questions.
