  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Winners

    The two students in College of Nursing became winners of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship, which was established in 1985 at UIC to recognize underrepresented students who have demonstrated high academic achievement and have shown a commitment to civil rights and social justice through community service.

    On December 14, 2019, the UIC College of Nursing celebrated the graduation of 183 students at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.

  • Congratulations Charese Jackson!

    Our very own Charese Jackson, Assistant Director of the Urban Health Program, has been named the inaugural recipient of the UIC College of Nursing Julie and Mark Zerwic Diversity Award. On December 2nd, 2019, Charese received this award in the company of many friends, family, and cohort.

  • UIC CHANCE Program Visit

    On Friday, November 15, 2019, the UIC CHANCE Program visited the College of Nursing. 12 pre-nursing students participated in the College of Nursing visit to learn about the nursing profession and the admissions process. A tour of the Schwartz Lab was given by Mr. Juan Meija. 

  • Advocate Workforce Initiative

    This past semester, a team from the Advocate-Aurora Workforce Initiative Program facilitated a Student Learning Group at the College of Nursing. The goal of the program was to develop and improve skill-based training programs that seek to address some of the health care industry’s current workforce needs.
