via New Life Volunteering Society:
This virtual event is a great way to learn about the projects and studies that are happening in the world around us and the impact they have on our community.
The Global Health Panel will happen this Tuesday, April 26th from 6:00-7:30 pm.
Hope to see everyone there!
We have invited excellent speakers, Dr. Rohan Jeremiah PhD, MPH Interim Associate Dean for Global Health Leadership Office and Dr. Abhilasha Shrestha PhD, MPH research assistant professor in the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (EOHS).
They will speak about their unique experiences and research in their respective fields and about any opportunities available for outreach in the United States and internationally.
Dr. Jeremiah has done numerous social service research on marginalized communities in the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa and on the topics of HIV/AIDS, reducing trauma, disease risks, and mortality. He has also led a United Nations sponsored Intimate Partner Violence intervention in the Eastern Caribbeans.
Dr. Abhilasha Shrestha has done research focusing on indicators of infectious agents in water and monitoring the water quality across the nation. She has also applied rapid molecular methods toward protection and monitoring policies in the Chicagoland area.
