ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This 6-credit elective course is intended to introduce students to the concept of community as a health system and to the roles and responsibilities of health and social professionals in population health. Students will complete a comprehensive assessment of the community of Dublin to identify health risks among the population, service and resource limitations, and current health information methods. Students will also explore how differences in health care systems, culture, policy, and environment impact population health through clinics, community agencies, hospitals, and cultural experiences in Dublin, Belfast, and Galway.
