  Wouldn't it be great if patients could get their full-scope reproductive health care from their Advanced Practice Clinician (APC)? Imagine how complications and costs could be reduced if abortion care was available early and locally. Did you hear that UIC recently received a grant to train and mentor APCs to provide and integrate abortion care into their practices and want to find out more? This event is sponsored by the Radiant Fellowship at UIC.  * * * About the RADIANT Fellowship The Reproductive Advocacy and Diversity in Advanced Nursing Training (RADIANT) Fellowship was recently formed at the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois-Chicago to address inconsistent abortion training and barriers to practice integration. This program aims to create a sustainable model for advancing abortion care statewide by firstly providing targeted education to interested Advanced Practice Clinicians, and secondly supporting the rollout of reproductive services to close gaps in access. This paid fellowship integrates clinical mentorship and a comprehensive abortion curriculum in trauma-informed and gender-affirming provision of medication and procedural abortion. RADIANT fellows will be accepted to the program through an application process that prioritizes the applicant’s commitment to serving as an abortion provider within an underserved community (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQI+, immigrant, rural). More information about RADIANT will be available this fall on our website. University of Illinois Chicago-College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
