JANUARY
Chi Eta Phi Sorority Incorporated provides financial assistance to nursing students who meet established criteria. Scholarships are given at Local, Regional and National levels of the organization to nursing students enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.
Applications becoming available October of each year and are due January 15th of the following year.
The Foundations of the National Student Nurses' Association Scholarship
Undergraduate scholarships are available to students currently enrolled in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic pre-licensure doctorate, or generic pre-licensure master’s degree; or to students enrolled in an RN to BSN completion program, RN to MSN completion program, LPN/LVN to RN program, or 16-18 month accelerated program. Funds are not available for graduate study unless it is for a first degree in nursing.
PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation
Scholarship awards will be granted as follows:
- Twenty (20) Awards of $10,000 each based on academic achievement and financial need.
- Twenty (20) Awards of $2,500 each based solely on academic achievement.
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, applicants must:
- Be US Citizens or US permanent residents.
- Be of Hellenic descent.
- Be a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited 4-year university in Fall 2017.
- Have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- Be the only member of their family/household applying for a scholarship award this year.
Hurst Reviews/AACN Nursing Scholarship
The scholarship program is available to prelicensure students enrolled at member AACN schools. Two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded twice yearly (January and July).
Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF)
Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $20,000 awards. APIASF provides scholarships to underserved AAPI students with a special focus on those who:
- Live at or below the poverty level, or are otherwise of low socioeconomic status;
- Are the first in their families to attend college;
- Are representative of the AAPI community's diversity, geographically and ethnically, especially those ethnicities that have been underrepresented on college campuses due to limited access and opportunity; and
- Have placed strong emphasis on community service and leadership as well as solid academic achievement.
Geraldine "Polly" Bednash Scholarship
All scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average in current program or at last school attended.
- Be admitted or enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program at an AACN member institution affiliated with CastleBranch (see http://www.aacn.nche.edu/students/scholarships/CBSchools.pdf). FEBRUARY
University of Illinois Avery Brundage Scholarship
Full-time University of Illinois students at the Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield universites who excel in both academics and athletics are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Also year, 16 students each recived $2,500 in scholarships.
Requirements:
- undergraduate ranked in top 25% of class
- graduate/professional student in good standing
- full-time student
- participate in sports (either individual or team at any level)
Loretta Ford Centennial Scholarship
Designed to inspire the next generation of NPs, the Loretta Ford Centennial Scholarships will award funding to current registered nurses (RNs) who are determined to move into advanced practice. Each of the five $10,000 scholarships will support nurses who aspire to transition to the NP role and continue the legacy Dr. Ford began in 1965.
F.A. Davis Spring 2021 Scholarship

Emergency Medicine Foundation/ENA Foundation Joint Research Grant
The ENA Foundation and Sigma Theta Tau International, Inc. (STTI) have combined resources to offer this annual research grant. The ENA Foundation/STTI research grant provides funding for research that will advance the specialized practice of emergency nursing.

Beck Institute Student Scholarship Competition
Beck Institute holds a scholarship competition for graduate students in the health or mental health fields.
Ten applicants will receive a full-tuition scholarship to the Student Workshop in Philadelphia and will meet in a private question and answer session with the Drs. Beck.
Indian Health Service
For members of federally recognized Tribes and villages. You must be enrolled in an eligible health profession degree program.
AfterCollege/AACN $10,000 Scholarship Fund
The AfterCollege-AACN Scholarship Fund supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program.

AAUW Lombard Area Branch Scholarships
Lombard Area AAUW is offering one $1600 scholarship. Women are eligible who meet these three criteria:

- Are continuing Higher Education after a significant interruption, and

The Hope Babette Tang Humanism in Healthcare Essay Contest
The Gold Foundation’s annual contest asks medical students and nursing students, to engage in a reflective writing exercise that illustrates an experience where they or a team member worked to ensure that humanism was at the core of care. First-, second-, and third-place essays for both nursing and medical students will be chosen by a panel including healthcare professionals, writers/journalists, and educators.
Winners receive an award of up to $1,000. First-, second-, and third-place nursing and medical student essays will be published in The Journal of Professional Nursing, the journal of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and Academic Medicine, the journal of the Association of American Medical Colleges. The winners will be spread out among the 2018 October, November, and December issues with a winning medical essay and a winning nursing essay together in each issue. This innovative cross-publication is designed to foster interprofessional understanding.
APRIL
The Herbert Lehman Scholarship program
The Herbert Lehman Scholarship program is available for those students who will be attending four-year colleges or universities full-time and designed for African-American students to accomplish their financial need and complete their bachelor’s degree. The award amount of the scholarship is $8,000.
NHSC Loan Repayment Program
Primary care medical, dental and behavioral health clinicians can get up to $50,000 to repay their health profession student loans in exchange for a two-year commitment to work at NHSC-approved sites in high-need, underserved areas.
NHSC Zika Loan Repayment Program
Health care providers can receive up to $70,000 in exchange for a three-year commitment at NHSC-approved sites as they work to address the health effects and risks associated with Zika.
National Black Nurses Association, Inc
NBNA is committed to excellence in education and conducts continuing education programs for nurses and allied health professionals throughout the year. The association provides annual scholarships for students.
Scholarships provide funding for continuing education. This funding enables nurses to grow and better contribute their talents to the health and healthcare of our communities.

The Arlington Heights, Illinois Nurses Club provides scholarship assistance to students who are residents of Arlington Heights and are currently enrolled in a National League for Nursing (NLN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CNNE) approved nursing program for the upcoming school year. This includes students enrolled in BSN completion programs if it applies to your institution. The applicant must currently demonstrate a minimum B average in all college level coursework as well as financial need. In addition, they must have successfully completed at least one clinical rotation in nursing, or be a CNA or LPN. Health Professions Scholarship Program
The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to individuals pursuing a program of study leading to a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Nursing. This program will help alleviate the health care workforce shortages in VA by obligating scholarship recipients to complete a minimum 2-year service obligation at a VA health care facility after graduation and licensure/certification.
The Scholarship awards provide for the payment of a monthly stipend, tuition, required fees, and other reasonable educational expenses, including books and necessary equipment. The benefits are exempt from Federal taxation.
Catharine Wilder Guiles Scholarship
The University of Southern Maine is pleased to announce the Catharine Wilder Guiles Scholarship to students who are planning to work with the adult mental health population in the state of Maine.The program is intended for students who are matriculated into their second year of the MS in Nursing program, Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner concentration or the MSW program. The purpose of the program is to help those students who are a Maine resident with a demonstrated financial need. The winners of the scholarship will receive $2,000 award for the academic year.

To be eligible for a scholarship an applicant must:

The American Nurses Foundation Nursing Research Grants Program was founded almost 60 years ago to encourage the research career development of nurses. This program continues to grow with contributions for nursing research, from organizations and individuals. These donations support scientific research for advancing the practice of nursing, promoting health and preventing disease.
Rural Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Program
Students applying for the scholarship must have the following credentials: 1. Illinois resident 2. Registered nurse 3. University Nurse Practitioner Program acceptance
Based upon selection by the Scholarship Committee, a grant award of $4,000 shall be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution offering the approved nurse practitioner curriculum.

Nurses Educational Funds (NEF) Scholarship
Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a not-for-profit organization which seeks and distributes funds to baccalaureate prepared registered nurses who are in need of nursing scholarship assistance for graduate study. Annual Senior Care Scholarships
A Place for Mom is proud to offer our annual $1,000 scholarship to university students interested in the fields of aging and gerontology. As the North America's largest senior living referral service, we know the importance of supporting the training and education of our future senior care leaders.

The American Cancer Society’s Doctoral Scholarship in Cancer Nursing was established by the American Cancer Society. The scholarship is for graduate students pursuing doctoral degrees in the fields of cancer research, education, administration, or clinical practice.
Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing Dorthy Budney Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for active members of ARIN who have been so for at least three years. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must possess a current nursing license, be enrolled in an approved academic program, and have an overall 2.5 GPA.

LARES Tuition Waiver
The Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services (LARES) program is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2020 LARES Tuition Award. All current DNP students must provide proof of having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in their doctoral program, and all recently accepted students looking forward to beginning their DNP program must provide proof of being accepted into a qualifying program and provide proof of having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in their undergraduate or graduate studies, depending on the highest degree earned.

The NPHF/Procter & Gamble Endowed Scholarship in Community Service is awarded to one nurse practitioner graduate student who has made a significant positive contribution in school, in the community, or in patient care while in the pursuit of an advanced degree. One scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded.
Lamber & Goodnow Injury Law Team Nursing Scholarship
- Must either be applying to a nursing program for enrollment the following year or currently enrolled in a nursing program that you will continue to be enrolled in through the following academic year.
- Essay submission must be received by December 1, each year.
American Indian Nurse Scholarship Program
The American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award Program was started by the NSCDA in 1928 to give students of American Indian descent the opportunity to pursue careers in nursing. The current goal is to grant a $1,500 scholarship each semester, as long as the student remains in academic good standing. The scholarship money is restricted to tuition and specific academic expenses.
