Job Summary
Ambria College of Nursing at Judson University seeks applications from qualified candidates to provide academic and educational leadership for nursing faculty by setting the standards for effective teaching while promoting a positive learning environment. The Director of Nursing serves as the Nurse Administrator, as defined by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), and leads a team of nurse educators who are passionate about training future nurses.
The position would be a full-time faculty position and begin September 1, 2025.
Primary Responsibilities
- Directs the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit
- In collaboration with the faculty and administrators, is responsible for developing and administering operating policies and procedures which are reflective of and consistent with the institution’s structure and guidelines.
- Manages scheduling of student advisement, assignment of teaching loads, and supervision of nursing faculty
- Oversees faculty hiring, orientation, mentoring, and retention
- Leads nursing faculty in ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of curricula and course content
- Prepares the nursing program budget with faculty input, and manages fiscal resources
- Responsible for annual accreditation and state regulatory reporting and requirements
- Pursues a plan for professional growth and development to keep pace with changes in nursing education
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, with emphasis in Nursing Education preferred
- Unencumbered professional nurse licensure in the state of Illinois
- A minimum of five (5) year’s classroom and clinical teaching experience
- Experience in nursing program accreditation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and learning management software
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, collaborative, team-building, and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism
Preferred qualifications:
- PhD, DNP, EdD, DNSc, or similar terminal degree
- Management experience
