Position Summary
Responsible for performing duties to assist Business Communications (BA 200) course instructors. The distribution of duties may vary, depending on demand and will be at the direction of the director of the Business Communication Program (BCP). Will work 20 hours per week and be expected to assist with the implementation of course curriculum and feedback to students. Candidate must be a graduate student and have outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain a supportive course environment where students feel comfortable seeking editorial revisions on written assignments and presentation visual aids.
Assist faculty to identify, assess, and implement resources to support course instruction and student learning.
Track student participation in classroom discussions and take steps to ensure active participation from all students.
Participate in students’ discussion forums and offer feedback to students’ posts.
Hold review sessions on grammar and business writing conventions.
Correspond with students as needed to clarify assignments and provide feedback.
Perform other duties as assigned by the BCP director.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with Blackboard, PowerPoint, and online scheduling platforms such as Calendly.com and Doodle.com.
