Workshop
In a 2019 Brigham Young University study of college students, approximately 20% of the participants expressed feelings of being an imposter. Imposter syndrome, also known as imposterism or imposter phenomenon, is an experience where people may feel like frauds, have self-doubt, and/or believe that they are underserving of the achievements made in school, in their careers, or in other areas of their lives.
In this virtual workshop, Dr. Belva Miles, UIC Counseling Center Staff Psychologist, will help us understand: 1) what imposter syndrome is; 2) how it can impact our mental health; and 3) how to overcome it.
