Indiana University School of Nursing invites applications for two positions for Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor; one is available to start August 1, 2021, the other is available to start as soon as filled. The first Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position is a full-time, 10-month academic position (August 1 start) and FNP Track Coordinator. The second position is a 75% FTE academic and clinical position in the School of Nursing and the Campus Health and Wellness Center Clinic, which are part of the College of Health and Human Services at Indiana University Northwest. The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor is a non-tenure-track position. FNP Track Coordinator focus is on teaching graduate didactic and clinical nursing courses (two per semester) as well as administrative duties required to Coordinate the FNP track in the MSN program. Key working relationships include those with other faculty members, as well as with adjunct faculty/preceptors who administer clinical education at the clinical affiliates. The second position teaches undergraduate and/or graduate courses (one per semester), and serves as the provider in the Campus Health and Wellness Center Clinic serving students, staff, and faculty. Both positions include service responsibilities, which may involve participation at the department, division, campus, and/or community level. Major Duties and Responsibilities
Position 1, FNP Track Coordinator and faculty member. Responsibilities for the position will include teaching graduate didactic and clinical nursing courses; assisting with curricular development, implementation, and evaluation; mentoring students; assisting with administrative oversight of the FNP Track, assisting students to secure clinical placements, and vetting clinical sites for appropriateness. Community service/shared governance activities are also part of the role.
Position 2, Faculty member and Provider in the Campus Health and Wellness Center Clinic. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate nursing courses, assisting with curricular development, implementation, and evaluation; mentoring students; community service/shared governance activities are also part of the role. Additionally, the Provider in the Clinic will provide primary/episodic care to the campus community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Rank dependent upon educational preparation and experience.
- Current or recent clinical practice experience as an FNP; able to practice autonomously
Required Qualifications
· Graduate degree in nursing
· Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in Indiana
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous teaching experience
· DNP/PHD
Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
