Major Duties & Responsibilities
Develop & Implement Strategic Wellness Programming/Services
- Coordinate wellness activities for employees and interact with critical partners, including campus programs, health-care providers and community wellness programs and services.
- Identify departmental objectives and long-range planning to maximize resources and reduce redundancy.
- Develop, coordinate, promote and implement wellness programs as identified in the needs assessments. These may include, but are not limited to classes, informational events, health fairs, outreach programs, self-directed activities, and web-based programs.
- Work with appropriate campus units to create environmental support to campus wellness.
- Develop and locate appropriate wellness education resources as needed. These resources may include but are not limited to web-based resources, print materials, newsletters and more.
Communicate with Campus Partners & External Groups
- Guide program publicity and promotion, recruit program participants, and actively promote positive public relations for Well-Being Services and other campus wellness programs.
Collaborate with Campus Units & Community to Advance Health &
Wellness Research Efforts
Evaluate & Improve Wellness Programs
- Conduct employee wellness needs assessments to identify wellness services that best fit our campus and employee needs.
Hire, Train, Supervise and Evaluate Well-Being Services Staff
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate employees that help implement Well-Being Services programs. Ensure that employees are well versed in Illinois Human Resources policies and procedures.
Collaborate with IHR to Operate Well-Being Services
- Review, in conjunction with the Business Manager for Human Resources, matters relating to fees, supervision, budget and fiscal responsibilities.
- Manage the program responsibilities within the budget constraints established by the Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources, and the Human Resources Business Office.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field of Health, Wellness or a related
field.
Preferred:
Advanced degree in a related field.
