Summary:
The Student Administrative Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting projects to improve medical center performance: planning, implementation and management of strategic initiatives and evaluation of their effectiveness. This includes, but is not limited to, improvement of patient experience results across all customer groups in the Medical Center. This role will provide exposure to operational and clinical issues at Rush across multiple departments, therefore the ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, and driven to improve processes and outcomes. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Performs administrative functions such as scheduling meetings, drafting meeting minutes, monitoring project timelines and work deliverables.
2. Conducts library and computer searches on clinical and administrative topics.
3. Collects and analyzes data related to clinical outcomes.
4. Collects and analyzes data related to program performance.
5. Conducts statistical analyses using a variety of software packages.
6. Assists with implementation of clinical projects.
7. Rotates with health care professionals to gain hands-on clinical experience.
8. Assists with the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives.
9. Assists with program evaluation.
10. Prepares written and oral reports and presentations that communicate necessary information.
11. Performs related duties as assigned.
Other information:
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
• Currently enrolled as a student in Rush University's College of Health Sciences HSM program.
• General knowledge of organizations, specifically health care organizations; medical terminology, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
• Proficient with computer applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to work independently and efficiently.
• Possess strong analytic and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a team of professionals.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
