Description:
The University of Illinois Cancer Center is seeking a graduate assistant (hourly) to support the in-person summer program research for students in high school to medical school levels. The position will work with students by providing presentations on research writing, including one-on-one support related to the student's literature review, writing of a research paper, and poster development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support the in-person summer program research for students in high school to medical school levels.
Provide presentations on research writing, including one-on-one support related to the student's literature review, writing of a research paper, and poster development.
Provide administrative support on the day-to-day activities of the 10-week programming (from June 5 to August 11, 2023) and report to the Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) Leadership.
The role will require about 20-40 hours per week, providing a flexible schedule between 9 am- 5 pm.
Qualifications:
Master's and doctoral students in a research-oriented field are welcome to apply.
Interested individuals will have experience supporting high school and undergraduate students in research and scientific writing. Knowledge in education or public health research is preferred.
Tuition waiver is not provided for this position.
