Essential Functions:
- Assess regional needs and capacities with particular attention to medically underserved communities and at-risk populations.
- Assist the Director and other Goshen College staff with the development, coordination and management of health professions clinical training and education programs with a variety of community, academic, and clinical partners in an eight county region of northeastern Indiana.
- In consultation with the Director, oversee management of the NEI-AHEC clinical travel grant program.
- In consultation with the Director, seek out and manage additional funding opportunities, including but not limited to the Division of Mental Health and Addiction grant.
- Develop and manage career exploration programming in secondary education settings, clinical support programming in post–secondary education settings, plan events for Scholar Fellowship students, and develop continuing education opportunities for licensed health professionals in the region.
- In consultation with the Director, manage the development, coordination, implementation, marketing and recruitment of the NEI AHEC Scholars Program to improve the skills and competencies of health profession students completing their final two years of academic training.
- Present AHEC Scholars Program information and other NEI-AHEC program information to external stakeholder and potential student Scholars; establish partnerships with relevant academic programs and university support service offices.
- In consultation with the Director, provide overall management of the applicant review and selection processes for NEI AHEC Scholars Program.
- Oversee monthly online discussions, technical assistance and problem-solving activities to mentor Scholars students and other health professions students.
- Complete administrative tasks related to the daily operation of the NEI-AHEC office including but not limited to: facilitation of staff and participant travel arrangements and reimbursements; managing NEI supply orders; conducting evaluations of NEI-AHEC programs using statewide AHEC Network database systems; process payments and reimbursements to vendors, students and community partners.
- Represent NEI-AHEC at meetings with regional partners, healthcare consortiums, neighboring AHEC regions and network office team members.
- In consultation with the Director, select, hire, train, mentor and evaluate select NEI-AHEC staff members and student workers.
- Attend additional training and conferences as required, including but not limited to Indiana AHEC Conferences, the NAO Biennial Conference, the IRHA Conference and others.
- Willingness to obtain certifications to further the mission of NEI-AHEC, including but not limited to CPR/BLS Instructor certification and Mental Health First Aid Instructor certification.
- Performs other duties necessary to further the interests of NEI-AHEC.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a health, education, healthcareadministration or human services field required
- At least 5 years of work experience in allied health, public health, or education
- Experience with education programming such as staff development, curriculum design, patient education, or precepting/instructing health professions students
- Comfort level in a variety of clinical, academic, and community settings
- Motivation to work and travel regionally
- Good communication and project management skills
- Proficiency with the use of computer hardware, software and a variety applications such as learning management systems and database programs
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently
- Commitment to the mission and core values of Goshen College
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a health-related area
- Prior clinical experience in a health profession
- Prior experience with grants and budget management
- Prior experience with website design and development
- Prior experience building academic and community partnerships.
- Certifications including but not limited to any of the following: CPR, MHFA, CCHW, CHES
- Prior AHEC experience
