Dr. Novak is the head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at UI Health. He is the lead investigator of the UIC clinical trial currently underway to test a COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Novak will be discussing his team's work, the timeline for vaccine development, plans for effective distribution, herd immunity, and much more. There have been many misconceptions surrounding the vaccine, and in a time of such chaos & uncertainty, we wanted to create this space for students to hear from Dr. Novak directly and engage in critical discussion.
