Grassi Retina is an ophthalmology clinic in Naperville, IL, specializing in medical retina care. We are looking for a Clinic Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician to join our team!
Duties include working with each patient from start to finish during their visit - collecting all clinical information requested by Dr. Grassi, such as medical histories; entering information into our electronic medical records (medical scribing); testing patients' eye pressure and vision; explaining procedures, treatments, and diagnoses to patients and their families; communicating with referring physicians' offices; preparing intravitreal injection and laser eye surgical procedures; administering Electroretinograms, visual fields, eye ultrasounds, retinal imaging and other diagnostic exams; interacting with patients on the phone and in person, maintaining sensitive ophthalmologic equipment, and keeping e xam rooms clean and in order. Other responsibilities as needed.
Seniors and recent graduates who are majoring in a pre-health field and wish to gain experience in a healthcare setting are encouraged to apply. We will train from the ground up to our specifications. Applicants must be detail-oriented, highly professional, and exhibit excellent communication skills. Days of operation are Monday, some Tuesdays, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. Hours are 8 am to 6 pm most often but these can vary depending on patient volume. On-call hours are required occasionally. We are closed for most major holidays. We anticipate this position to start around May but are flexible depending on your availability.
