Metro Achievement Center, a non-profit across the street from UIC (310 S. Peoria Street), is looking for volunteers! Our mission is to serve low-income families to grow in academics and virtue via one-on-one tutoring and mentoring alongside our free parent program.
At Metro, we've gone completely virtual and are working with students in 4th-6th grade in a one-on-one capacity to supplement the individual attention they are missing out on with remote learning. Because of that, we are in need of many volunteers!
Currently, we are looking for people to volunteer two nights a week, from 6:00-6:30PM on Mondays and from 5:20-7:00PM on Wednesday evenings. The program runs from now 'til the 9th of December and resumes the last week in January, going 'til the first week in May.
If you are interested in volunteering with a student in this capacity, please feel free to contact Carolyn Madigan (Volunteer Coordinator & One-on-One Program Director) at cmadigan@midtown-metro.org or apply online at www.midtown-metro.org/volunteer.
