Dear Students,
The past month has presented us all with tremendous changes in the way we live our lives. This change in our environment has presented new challenges in how educational material is presented and how knowledge acquisition, skill development, and problem solving is tested in an online environment. There are significant challenges in creating and adapting to new ways of education in the middle of a pandemic and yet our standards and expectations for integrity remain unchanged. These standards are a cornerstone to the educational environment at UIC. You may review these standards at Code of Student Conduct<https://dos.uic.edu/community-standards/academic-integrity/>.
As you get ready to take your finals, it is important that you plan ahead and use your time wisely. I encourage you to review your syllabus for each class to ensure you have a full understanding of the expectations laid out by your professor. These documents provide the guidelines for what is and is not considered acceptable within the classroom environment. If you have a question about whether a resource is acceptable for use, or how you may approach your finals in this online environment, you should ask your faculty for clarification!
Good luck to you all as we approach the end of the semester!
Sincerely,
Keith Ellis
