Interested in being an Honors College Tutor next fall? Apply today!
The tutoring application is available online here. Please make sure you have scheduled your classes and have a general idea of your fall availability before submitting the application. The deadline to submit the Honors Tutoring Application for Fall 2020 is Monday, June 1 at 11:59pm.
To be eligible to tutor for the Honors College, you must be in at least your second year (have completed two semesters at UIC) by Fall, and have a 3.4 UIC GPA or higher.
Tutors must commit to a total of 4 hours per week, between the hours of 9am and 4pm (depending on student availability the Tutoring Center may also hold evening hours). Tutors will be on block schedules, working a minimum of 2 hours at a time.
Tutors will be selected and contacted via email before the start of the fall semester. If you are selected as a tutor, you will be asked to complete required training and confirm/finalize your schedule within the first two weeks of classes. You may also be asked to participate in an in-person onboarding meeting, which will be scheduled as needed. Official tutoring hours begin Week 3 of the fall semester. Please be aware that if you are offered a tutoring role but your availability changes in the fall, you may not be able to maintain your tutoring position.
