The Office of Diversity--alongside the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change, Office of Financial Aid, UIC Honors College, Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services, and the UIC Visitor Center--are working together to host workshops for RISE Act applicants.
The Retention of Illinois Students & Equity (RISE) Act allows eligible undocumented students and transgender students who are disqualified from federal financial aid to apply for all forms of state financial aid. The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid provides a pathway for qualified students to apply for Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants, the state's largest need-based grant program for low-income college students.
Head to the Office of Diversity’s website RISE Act Application Workshop Information page to find out how you can participate and register for the sessions. (Please note: There is an extensive amount of information available on the page, including documents that will be needed for application, dates, times, and locations of sessions.)
