Event Details: The Boy Scouts are hosting their council-wide Camporee which will include boy and girl Cub Scouts (Kindergarten–Fifth-grade), young men and women Scout BSA participants (6th Grade–High School Seniors), Venturers, Sea Scouts, and Explorer participants. With an overall expected attendance of 3,000-5,000 Scouts, the Camporee will feature both traditional Scouting programs and more unique experiences.
Project Information: Volunteers will be assisting throughout the day with running various program stations and interacting directly with the participants. Some programs include: Rock Climbing; Rocket Launches; Archery & Fishing; Boating; STEAM activities including Soldering, Robots, Astronomy; Vendor Displays; Relay Race; Inflatables; Field Games; Scout Skills and Advancement Opportunities. Students are able to sign up by themselves, or with a group.
Date: October 12, 2019
Time: 7:00-12:00, 11:00-5:00, and 7:00-5:00. (Lunch will be provided for all students volunteering for the all-day shift.)
Location: Busse Woods
Transportation: All transportation will be provided to the service project via buses leaving from UIC Student Center East.
