There is a new organization on campus, AMWA UIC, which is a chapter of the national American Medical Women’s Association Pre-Medical Division. AMWA UIC’s kickoff event is on Monday April 29, 2019 at COMRB (West Campus) Room 5175 at 6pm. We will be hosting a panel event featuring 5 physicians and women’s health professionals from the College of Medicine. Come join us learn how aspiring female health care professionals can become leaders in medicine and advocates for women's health. Food will be served. Hope to see you all there!!
AMWA’s mission is to empower aspiring healthcare providers to work alongside other students, physicians, scientists, and leaders in medicine to collectively improve the lives of women in the medical profession and the quality of care delivered to women and children. Our goals are to increase student awareness on topic’s regarding women’s health and serve as advocates for the needs and rights of all female patients, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
