Globemed is an organization focused on ongoing global health equity programming and support for partnerships. The UIC Globemed branch is partnered with a community-based organization in Cameroon called FORUDEF. We work with them closely and help the community with many causes, such as obtaining pregnancy kits and supporting women in domestic abuse situations. GlobeMed also aids with local, community-specific health issues in Chicago. GlobeMed at UIC will be hosting a ghU about food insecurity along with Illinois PIRG. Join us to learn more about the issue of food insecurity, how it manifests both locally and globally, and what can be done to fight against it.
