The HBCU HSI Bridge Scholarship to U-Chicago, open to graduating seniors in all disciplines, is a merit-based, full-tuition award for graduating seniors to take a full year of graduate courses (2 courses per quarter over 3 quarters) at the University of Chicago. Accepted students are eligible to enroll in courses across the University of Chicago's graduate divisions and schools; this includes the Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities Divisions, as well as the Divinity School, the Harris School of Public Policy, and the School of Social Service Administration. (It excludes Business, Law, and Medicine.)
UIC, as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), is allowed to nominate 3 graduating seniors from any racial or ethnic background for the Bridge Scholarship. If this sounds like something you're interested in doing, apply now for UIC's nomination! There is a UIC deadline of February 26, 2019 for you to complete and submit this online form. UIC's review committee will follow up with all applicants by March 1.
Since the Bridge Scholarship's inception, many UIC students have received this award. You can see some of their profiles on this pdf which describes the program and profiles several cohorts of awardees. You can also learn more about the program on their website here.
