Active Minds is a national organization centered around young adult mental health advocacy and suicide prevention. At UIC, our chapter would like to increase mental health awareness on campus by focusing on peer support, mental health in cultural contexts, signs and symptoms of mental health disorders, and advocacy work. Mental health has always been important but the COVID-19 pandemic has shown just how important it is. Our goal as a chapter is to foster a community of individuals that support each other’s unique mental health journey by leading them towards the right resources.
For Spring 2021, we would like to welcome all undergraduate students that are interested and have a passion for mental health in any regard. Please fill out our interest form (https://forms.gle/gnxvgk1N8SYM568V7). If you are looking for leadership opportunities, we also have an application open for open board positions! (https://forms.gle/a1VnL4o7MHQHNnVn6). Please look at the app for position descriptions.
