When you add tech skills to your major, you open up a whole new world of job opportunities.
It takes just one course to get started!
We at Break Through Tech Chicago invite you to consider our spring 2022 section of that course: CS 111. We are dedicated to helping female and nonbinary UIC students gain the tech skills that unlock highly paid tech-oriented jobs in any career field.
What is CS 111? It’s the introductory, no-experience-required computer science course that can set you on your way to a minor in computer science (or even a major, if that route is for you). Give this class a try and you’ll:
- Learn how computers represent, store, and process information
- Use your new skills to get creative: making simple computer games, data visualizations, and images
- Do almost all of your learning in groups! You’ll work with other female and nonbinary UIC students who are curious about technology.
If you enjoy CS 111, you might go on for a computer science minor. Adding this minor can boost your marketability to employers, making you eligible for jobs that start at $70,000 to $80,000 right after graduation.
