via Longevity and Aging Research Group:
Dear HC Students,
🧠Longevity and Aging Research Group (LARG) will be hosting our first journal club 📑 of the semester! This journal club will be one of the few events where we will come together and discuss some of the many interesting findings in aging and longevity research through sci entific literature. We will send out the paper of interest shortly before the start of the event. This week, we will be having a casual ~ discussion on a paper this week about autophagy!
🚨FAQ🚨
🧐 Do I need to read the paper in order to participate in journal club?
- While our discussion will surround the paper, we highly encourage but not require you to read it beforehand! We will have some discussion questions that won’t require needing to read the paper to answer
😵💫 I barely have any experience reading literature papers and not sure if it’s worth for me to come join
- we understand the many of you all may have different levels of comfort when I comes to reading papers. This journal club is casual and won’t involve any sort of assessment whatsoever! A part of having journal clubs is also getting a chance to step out of our comfort zone, but also meet other members that share similar interests as well
⏰ What time? In- person or virtual?
- This journal club will be in- person on Thursday March 3rd @ 5pm. Location details TBA. Make sure to have a green health check ✅
