Hello, Honors students,
I work as a Research Assistant in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Department of Medical Social Sciences with Dr. Betina Yanez.
We are seeking undergraduate students or post baccalaureate volunteer interns to assist with research tasks. Interested students would need to commit to working with us two days a week (minimum of 12 hours per week) at the Chicago campus. These positions are unpaid, but many of our current research staff later transitioned to either part-time or full-time positions after completing the internship.
We provide training and supervision for research interns who are interested in research, including those with no prior research experience. Interns will be required to complete CITI training before completing any study related activities.
Basic knowledge of human subject research, social & behavioral sciences, biological processes, or laboratory experience in biology and chemistry are preferred. Interest in psychology, anthropology, public health, or medicine is a plus.
The intern will assist with the following tasks:
- Reviewing patient medical records (electronically)
- Screening these records for patient eligibility
- Sending letters and making phone calls to recruit potential participants
- Making follow-up calls
- Completing miscellaneous tasks as needed
If you wish to apply, please send your CV/resume to the following address: precilla.fajardo@northwestern.edu.
Thank you,
Precilla Fajardo
