We are currently recruiting student tutors for a summer tutoring program at UIC’s Center for Literacy. The program is America Reads, which is a federally funded work-study initiative. We need tutors to have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need, because it’s work-study funding.
Below is an application and a flier for America Reads. We are currently accepting applications for summer AND fall of 2018. For summer we are specifically looking for ESL tutors and Teen Literacy tutors to serve at UIC’s Center for Literacy. For the fall session we will be hiring several tutors for all positions (Math, ESL, Literacy, etc). Also, although students must be eligible for work study, it does NOT need to be offered on their award letter. We can award work-study to any students that we hire.
The position pay $13/hr and we actually pay students for their transportation to the tutoring site.
Please feel free to contact me directly if interested.
Thanks!
