Current UIC undergraduate students in the Honors College are invited to apply for the NCHC Portz Scholar competition by submitting an essay representative of their best academic writing to Julianne Angeli at jangeli@uic.edu. Submitted papers have no length requirement or restriction. The Honors College will nominate one paper for consideration in the national competition, from which four Portz Scholars will be selected and featured at a plenary session at the National Collegiate Honors Conference in the fall. Each Scholar will also be awarded a $350 stipend.
