Unfortunately the discussion has been canceled. The Honors College Diversity Committee may reschedule this specific discussion for another date and time.
Naming and deconstructing privilege can be difficult. The complexity of these tasks will be explored at this Coffee Hour by introducing participants to the historical roots of privilege and intersectionality in addition to useful tools and resources for facilitating meaningful discussions. This interactive workshop will explore a plethora of questions and various strategies for responding to privilege in a university context. Workshop participants will engage in critical thinking activities, peer discussions, and practice exercises to facilitate learning about privilege and intersectionality in their own lives.
Featuring Jennifer S. Ash, Ph.D. Candidate in the UIC Department of History.
