Students, are you looking for a way to deepen your understanding of a specific topic, prepare for graduate school or a research job, AND get paid this summer? Did you know that there are numerous summer research and academic enrichment programs here at UIC, all across the US and around the globe--and almost all come with a salary or stipend!
If you are in the arts or humanities or other non-STEM or social science, the OUR welcomes students to come to our office for personalized summer opportunity planning and application advice. Email our@uic.edu to set up an appointment.
If you are a STEM or social science student, we have a group information session for you. Come to 1501 University Hall on Friday January 19th from 12-1 pm and meet two UIC faculty members who have led Summer Research Opportunities for Undergraduates through the National Science Foundation: Dr. Alfonso and Dr. Malchow (Biological Sciences). They will give you an insider's perspective on what makes a strong application and fill you in on what to expect when you are accepted. The Office of Undergraduate Research will supply you with numerous helpful handouts and a comprehensive program and deadline listing. Please register for the event here: https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/993304. Please email our@uic.edu if you cannot attend so we can provide you with this support another way.
