The Department of Medical Education sponsors the Joseph Begando Keynote Lecture every year in order to bring distinguished scholars in the fields of health humanities to the UIC community. Dr. Begando was chancellor of the Health Sciences Center who authorized the creation of a program in Medical Humanities for the Health Sciences.
This year our guest will be Dr. Keith Wailoo. He is an award-winning author on drugs and drug policy; race, science, and health; history of medicine; and health policy and medical affairs in the U.S.
