The Honors College is on the search for a photographer for the 25th Annual Honors College Ball, held on Friday, March 9, 2018. We would love to have Honors College student photographers capturing the events that evening!
The photographer for the Ball typically takes photos of the event that are similar to photos taken at a wedding reception or other dinner/dancing event, with a lot of candid photos and group shots, as well as some venue/décor photos. If you’re interested in taking on the role, the Ball this year will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at River Roast Chicago from 7pm-12am. If you are interested in the gig, you wouldn’t have to take photos the whole evening – just for a few hours – and while we couldn’t pay you for your services, you would receive free admission to the event! This means you would receive a free dinner and would be able to enjoy yourself for the rest of the evening with dancing and a cash bar (only if you’re of age) after finishing taking photos, probably around 9:30 or 10pm.
If interested, please send a brief email expressing your interest in the role to Honors Advisor and Program Specialist Nikki Gottleib (gottleib@uic.edu), including a link to a website, portfolio, or profile that allows the Honors College insight into your photography skills. Amateur photographers are very much welcome to apply, but we do need to be able to view samples of your work somehow. Feel free to reach out to Nikki with any questions. Email applications will be accepted until Friday, 11/17. You must be able to supply your own camera.
If you are also interested in hosting a photobooth for the evening, and have the equipment (excluding backdrop/props, which would be provided by the Honors College), please include that in your email.
