The Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) program aims to help students achieve a Master’s or joint degree, typically in public policy, public administration, international affairs or a related field. The organization does this through intensive study as part of a Junior Summer Institute (JSI). Each year, PPIA seeks out high-potential undergraduate students from universities across the country to participate in an intensive seven-week Junior Summer Institute (JSI) before their senior year. The Institute is hosted at the University of Minnesota, Carnegie Mellon, Princeton University, UC Berkeley, and University of Michigan. The programs last from approximately early June through late July.
Participants in the summer program are eligible for financial and other assistance from public policy and international affairs programs in the Graduate School Consortium:
The application deadline for the summer 2018 JSI is November 1, 2017. All materials must be submitted by that deadline including two letters of recommendation. The application consists of financial information, transcripts, resume, and at least two essays (varies by program).
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their application before the deadline.
