About the Fellowship: The Fritz Kaegi campaign is actively seeking finance/fundraising fellows to work on this competitive, county-wide race. The Fritz for Assessor Fellowship gives you direct political experience working with staff for 10-20 hours a week to provide practical and relevant experience fundraising with a major Democratic campaign. Each fellow has the opportunity to work side-by-side with senior staff.
About Fritz: Fritz has been an active participant in Democratic politics as a canvasser and door knocker, donor, host, fundraiser, meeting participant, and volunteer, especially on behalf of young, up and coming Democrats in close elections. But after this last election cycle, he felt compelled to do so much more on the local level. He's spent his working career over the last decade valuing assets and working as a trusted financial manager.
About the Office: The Assessor's office puts a value on virtually all real estate in Cook County—1.8 million parcels in all. This process is critical to our local public services as Illinois leans heavily on property taxes (instead of income taxes) to fund those services. These critical decisions affect our schools, clinics, and infrastructure investments.
Fritz believes the Assessor's office should provide fair, equal, and objective valuations that are trusted and arrived at with efficiency and competence, and without discrimination.
