The Honors College Advisory Board (HCAB) is hosting donation bins in the Honors College, both near the front desk and in the hallway near the Quiet Study, for the UIC Pop Up Pantry. Bins will be available for you to drop off items beginning Monday, August 28 (the first day of classes) until Friday, September 15 (the day your Honors Activity Agreement Forms are due), during regular Honors College Hours.
All items go directly to UIC students. For updates on food pantries and food drives, follow the Wellness Center on Facebook.
Donation Guidelines
- Products must be:
- In cans, cartons, or bags
- Non-perishable (requires no refrigeration or freezing)
- Unopened and in the original container with the original product label
- Free of damage, stains, moisture, etc.
- Foods should not be expired (within the expiration or sell by date)
- Most Popular Items:
- On-the-go/instant meals (ramen, instant macaroni/Easy Mac, Cup Noodles, etc.)
- Pasta & pasta sauce
- Cereal (hot and cold), grits, cream of wheat
- Snack foods (granola bars, pretzels, crackers, popcorn, etc.)
- Rice
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Important Basics:
- Peanut and other nut butters
- Jelly/jam/preserves
- Canned fish/meats
- Canned beans
- Canned pastas/noodles
- Canned soup/soup packets
- Canned fruits & vegetables
- Non-food Items
- Shampoo/conditioner
- Toothbrushes/toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Laundry detergent
- Diapers
- Feminine products
- Shower gel/body wash/bar soap
- Not Accepted
- Candy/treats
