It's that time of year again and we are looking to recruit volunteers to work with our students at Metro Achievement Center! As a summary, we are a mentoring and tutoring program for at risk girls in 4th-12th grade. Volunteers dedicate two hours one night a week to helping a student with her homework and goal setting. For our programs, we try to ensure that each student is paired with her own tutor!
The first step for students is to complete our online interest form at www.midtown-metro.org/metrovolunteers. Upon completion of the form they will be invited to attend an information session here at the center.
We will be attending UIC's involvement fair, but I was hoping you could reach out to the honors students and put up postings about our volunteer opportunity. We've had a few students from UIC volunteer and have had great experiences working with them!
Again, the time commitment is two hours, one night a week, from 6-8PM. We are located at 310 S. Peoria, so right next to the UIC Blue Line Halstead stop.
