OFFICE ASSISTANT – UNDERGRADUATE
This position provides general office support to the Women’s Leadership & Resource Center and the Campus Advocacy Network.
Job Duties
GENERAL OFFICE
- Staff front desk – greet and welcome guests and clients, have clients complete appropriate paperwork
- Answer telephone lines, re-direct callers to appropriate staff person or take detailed messages
- Organize and re-stock office materials
- Make copies, scan, fax documents
- Assist advocates in updating and/or discarding client files
- Assist with preparation and execution of short- and long-term projects
- Assist with maintenance of office (e.g. light cleaning, watering plants, etc.)
PROGRAMMING ASSISTANCE
- Assist with setting up programming space during in-office events
- Order supplies, food etc. for programs
- Input data from program evaluations
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
- Organize packets with WLRC/CAN materials for campus partners;
- Distribute fliers of WLRC/CAN programs in designated areas on campus
- Table at campus events (including Marketplace) as representative of WLRC/CAN and Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change (CCUSC)
- Keep track of tabling materials and ensure they are re-stocked, as needed
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Undergraduate student
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word & Excel, Google Drive and other Google applications
- Social justice-minded with strong interest in issues that affect women, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals
- Mindful of level of discretion needed in our office for safety and privacy of clients
BONUS
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator and/or InDesign
Hours/Days
15-20 hours per week
Hourly - $9.60/hour
Must be available most weekdays starting at 10:00am
Federal Work Study (FWS) preferred
