Portuguese for Romance Language Speakers is a course designed for students that already speak Spanish, French or Italian. Students use the knowledge of the language they already speak to learn Portuguese faster than other languages.
As you probably know Brasil has a very relevant presence in Latin America culture, politics and economy, and learning a language is a big step to understanding these aspects.
This is a 4-credit course taught in a blended format, meaning that we meet in class 3 times per week (there is no other time that the same course is been offered) and you would work for at least an hour per week completing online assignments. I do not request students to buy the textbook, but it is a requirement to buy the online access to it called MyPortugueseLab for Ponto de Encontro - 5 month access (which contains a virtual textbook, homework and extra practice activities).
