"Begun in 2011 by Chicago Cubs pitcher, Kerry Wood and his wife, Sarah, the Wood Family Foundation (WFF) works to improve the lives of children in Chicago. The WFF acts as an advocate for children in the Chicago community, inspiring others to join them in their mission.
All of our programs and activities are based on the belief that a child’s potential should never be underestimated and that building long-standing relationships with children and their families are the best way to nurture that potential. That’s why the Wood Family Foundation prides itself on providing support, not just on a one-time basis, but through long-term relationships with kids and their communities, ensuring the consistency and emotional structure they need to succeed."
The Wood Family Foundation is seeking volunteers/mentors to assist with the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. The application is available now and is open to all those interested.
