Vasculata™ 2017 will be an intense 3 1/2 day course introducing the basics of cardiovascular biology and cardiovascular disease with an emphasis on new approaches to treating the most common causes of human disease in our society, based on cutting-edge research in the field. Vasculata combines a self-study program and seminars from leaders in the field with optional hands-on workshops, thus providing attendees with a unique learning experience in a discipline not comprehensively covered in textbooks or even by courses in most universities. The self-teaching program, called the vasculata worksheet, will provide a resource we expect attendees will continue to find valuable throughout their careers.

Tunica Media, Tunica Adventitia, Tunica Intima.
Lineage Markers, Crispr/Cas9, Structure/function of Endothelium: Permeability, Leukocyte interactions, Vasoactivity.
Lineage Markers, Structure/function of Smooth Muscle cells and Pericytes
Branch Structure: Arterial branching, Capillaries, Collaterals, Venules and Veins
Developmental Origins and Mechanisms, and Organ Specific Vascular Biology: heart, brain, kidney, retina.
Developmental Disorders, Endothelial Barrier Function and Vascular Permeability
Inflammatory Interactions of Endothelium with Leukocytes and Immune system.
Vascular Disease: Inflammation, Atherosclerosis, Hypertension, and tumor angiogenesis.

LOCATION
The conference will be held at the Moss Auditorium at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine Research Building (COMRB), 909 S Wolcott Ave., Chicago, IL 60612
HOUSING
We have secured dorms rooms at the university and will have more information about them shortly. Double-occupancy is $160 for four nights; single-occupancy is $225 (very limited number of single rooms). Reserve your room when you register.
