I am Visible is a day dedicated to celebrating the visibility of African American women. Sight and sisterhood are the focal points of this event, coordinated by the Woman 2 Woman Initiative of the African American Academic Network. This event has been designed to amplify the narratives of African American women through interactive workshops including the following topics:
Tapping into Talent: How to Assess and Utilize Your Skill Sets
Making My Own Way: Black Women and Entrepreneurship
Reflections of Me: Representations of Black Women in the Media
In addition to the dynamic sessions, we are excited to invite Dr. Jane Rhodes, Department Head and Professor of African American Studies at UIC, as our Keynote Speaker!
