UIC Office on Latinos in STEM is looking for student peer mentors to participate in our mentoring program.
Mentoring con GANAS is an initiative of the new UIC Office on Latinos in STEM, aka L@S GANAS. We are currently recruiting volunteer sophomore and junior UIC students in biological sciences, biochemistry and neuroscience to become peer mentors and work with first year and transfer Latinx students beginning this semester and continuing through the 2017-2018 academic year.
As a mentor, students may share experiences, answer questions, share information about UIC and community resources, give feedback and, most important, share their secret to success. Each mentor will work with one mentee who is in the same or similar major. To apply and learn more details on the program, please visit http://hsi.uic.edu/initiatives/mentoring-con-ganas/. Our priority deadline is March 15th, 2017.
For more information, contact Veronica Arreola, the program director, via email hsistem@uic.edu or phone 312-355-3160. Our office is temporarily located on Suite 2180 Student Service Building, 1200 W Harrison St.
