Dear Honors College Students,
Our central administration in UH continues to work with tremendous energy to stay ahead of any developments that might affect the status and safety of our students. They are communicating with deans on a regular basis, and they are keeping all students as informed as possible by means of the Campus Conversations, which I hope many of you have been able to attend. If you’ve missed them, they’re available on the website https://provost.uic.edu/campus-conversation-series-february-2017/
The next Campus Conversation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th at noon (in the Cardinal Room, SCE) and will feature Susan Herman, president of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), who is also a professor of law in New York.
Meanwhile, the Diversity Committee here in the Honors College is hosting its first Coffee Hour of the semester with an open dialogue on “Immigration under Trump” with Tanya Cabrera, Associate Director for Equity and Inclusion here at UIC. It will be next Monday (February 27) from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in 121 BH. As always, there will be coffee and light refreshments. Please contact Tyler Nielsen at pniels2@uic.edu if you have any questions.
Finally, I share below a handout that Postdoctoral Fellow José Meléndez received and which some of you may find useful.
Wishing you a week as fantastic as the weather!
